Outdoor adventures await when you stay at a holiday park in Ayrshire. This scenic corner of western Scotland is parked right up by the coast. So expect sweeping beaches, coastal paths and rugged islands. The most popular, the Isle of Arran, is easily reachable via a short ferry.
The region’s probably most well-known for being the birthplace of Robert Burns, the national poet of Scotland. And there’s a museum dedicated to his life and work in Alloway, just outside the town of Ayr. But that’s not the only history to unearth. Grand old castles and stately homes are also dotted along the coast. They share the space with some of the country’s top-rated golf courses – like the one at Prestwick, which was the birthplace of The Open Championship.
