Holiday parks near Withernsea park you up in a small seaside town on the Yorkshire coast. You’ll be a five-minute walk from a Blue Flag beach, with easy access to the countryside and town. Withernsea’s promenade is worth a wander. Head down to the Pier Towers, which once marked the entrance to a grand Victorian pier.
Or venture to the rare inland lighthouse, which stands proudly in the middle of town. It’s one of only a handful of lighthouses built inland. Those with little ones can make use of the amusements, or head to Valley Gardens for entertainment in the form of shows and stalls, in summer. Meanwhile, families with four-legged friends can let them burn off some energy on Withernsea Beach.

In summer, this is the place to come for all sorts of entertainment. The purpose-built stage hosts local events and festivals, like the Withernsea Pirate Festival in July. It’s a day full of food, drink, music and games, with plenty of stalls to browse.
Withernsea’s inland lighthouse closed in 1976 after 82 years of service. Now, it commemorates local film star Kay Kendal, as well as providing information about shipwrecks. Climb to the top for the best views – there’s even a telescope in the lamproom.
