Walton-on-the-Naze is a Victorian town on the so-called Essex Sunshine Coast. So you can expect holiday parks near Walton-on-the-Naze to bring plenty of old-fashioned seaside fun and beautiful beaches. There’s a tonne for families at the holiday park, like laser quest, archery and crazy golf, but you can get even more action in town.
A historic pier features at the heart of Walton-on-the-Naze. Its beach is equally as pretty, though – colourful huts line up along the hillside behind the sands. To the north of town is The Naze. This untouched headland is made of beaches, saltmarshes and an 86-foot octagonal tower. You can head out on boat trips to explore more of the nature reserve and the North Sea, where you might be joined by a friendly seal or two. Walton’s also just 20 minutes’ drive from Clacton-on-Sea, the biggest of Essex’s seaside resorts.

The Naze Tower once played its role in maritime history. This Grade II listed building is the only of its type and era in the country. These days, its eight floors are home to an art gallery, museum and tea rooms. What’s more, there’s a rooftop viewing platform.
Walton’s pier is the third longest in the UK, going on for over half a mile. Families will love its arcades, escape rooms, bowling alley and undercover funfair. While keen fishermen can head to the quieter end to see what they can catch.
