Holiday parks near Crantock put you close to one of Cornwall’s loveliest beaches. The village of Crantock, with its shop and pub, is 10 minutes’ walk inland, but the sands are the main attraction here. Crantock Beach is a long stretch, perfect for both sandcastle-making and surfing. It’s backed by dunes and grasslands, making it a pretty sunbathing spot, too.
Further afield, you can follow the coastal path to Pentire Point for panoramic views, or cross the river to the Fern Pit Café – their crab sandwiches are legendary. Crantock’s also got a famous neighbour, Newquay. They’re around 10 minutes’ drive – or just under an hour’s walk – from each other, but a world apart. Holiday parks in Crantock give you the best of both – a quiet home to return to, with the attractions of nearby Newquay within easy reach.

The Gannel estuary is a wildlife haven, but Piper’s Hole, in particular, is a great place for spotting seabirds. Pop down at low tide and you can head inside the cave to see rock carvings – a female figure and a horse – from more than 100 years ago.
This beach is a hub for watersports, not just sunbathing. There’s a surf school on the beach, but that’s not the only watersports on offer. You can also sign up for lessons or hire stand-up paddleboards, kayaks and bodyboards.
