Holiday parks near Bridport place you in the tiny seaside village, West Bay, five minutes down the road from Bridport. It’s basically an extension of the Dorset market town – lots of people refer to it as simply Bridport Beach. And, because it’s on Dorset’s famous Jurassic Coast, the beaches here come backed by dramatic golden cliffs. In fact, you might recognise the beach from ITV’s Broadchurch TV series.
The town of Bridport made a name for itself back in the 13th century for its rope making, producing ropes for the Navy. But these days, it’s all about the arts scene. It’s often dubbed Notting Hill on Sea, thanks to its lively arts centre, independent cinema and live music. Plus, when you stay at a holiday park near Bridport, you’re within an hour’s drive of other Dorset hotspots, like Weymouth and Durdle Door.
